Committees and Executive Team

The Chapter is organized under the committee system. Each member and candidates, not serving as an officer, is required to serve on one of the standing committees.  All officers are considered supporting members of each of the committees.  The officer presiding over each committee has the authority and responsibility to call committee meetings.

President Committee
Information:

a.  Executive Powers:  The President shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the chapter; shall call and preside at meetings of the Chapter and of the Executive Committee; shall at all times represent and act for the fraternity in all matters; and shall have the powers to appoint and remove members of committees not provided for elsewhere in these bylaws. 

b.  Judicial Powers:  The President shall have the power to resolve controversies of any nature (except for suspension and expulsion).  Such decisions shall be subject to appeal to the Executive Committee.  The President may; however, refer any dispute to the Executive Committee for decision at his or her discretion.

c.  Committee Powers:  The President shall be considered a member of all committees that arise in the course of the Chapter's functioning.  In addition, the President shall have any other specific responsibilities as determined by the Executive Committee.

Executive Vice President Committee
Information:

a. The Executive Vice-President shall assist the President in the performance of prescribed duties.  In the case of absence, inability, or refusal of the President to act, the Executive Vice-President shall perform all the duties of the President.  In the event of death, disqualification, or removal from office of the President, the Executive Vice-President shall succeed the President in office until a President is duly elected to fill the vacancy.

b. The Executive Vice-President shall also plan and oversee all Professional Activities.

Vice President Fundraising Committee
Information:

The Vice-President of Fund Raising shall be in charge of planning and administering  fund raising activities decided upon by the executive committee, and any other duties that may be assigned by the President or the Executive President.

Vice President of Reporting Committee
Information:

The Vice-President of Reporting shall be in charge of transmitting to the Director of Chapter Activities a completed member data request form for each initiate, accompanied by a remittance for the initiation fees, within fourteen (14) days following the initiation, a list of Chapter officers within fourteen (14) days of their installation, and all other reports required by the Board and the Program for Chapter Activities requires.  The reporting secretary shall also be in charge of recording the minutes of Chapter meetings of the Executive Committee and giving a copy of the agenda and notes to those officers unable to attend the meetings, insuring that pictures are taken at all activities, preparing the Chapter's yearly summary (scrapbook), and any other duties that may be assigned by the President or the Executive President.

 

Vice President of Recruiting Committee
Information:

The Vice President of Recruiting shall be in charge of (1) recruiting candidates, (2) encouraging participation in chapter events by non-members, (3) receiving, reviewing, and submitting approved candidates to the Executive Vice-President for inclusion the chapter’s records, (4) liaison activities with other campus organizations, (5) maintaining the chapter email systems records, (6) and shall oversee and maintain the membership records, and any other duties assigned by the President or Executive Committee.

Vice President of Special Events Committee
Information:

The Vice-President of Special Events shall be in charge of planning and organizing Meet the Firms Night, Semester Socials, Mock Interviews, and any other duties that may be assigned by the President or the Executive Committee.

Vice President Public Relations Committee
information:

The Vice-President of Public Relations shall be in charge of planning and organizing all Office Tours, Accountant-for-a-Day activities, Professor-for-a-Day activities, preparing the semester newsletter, updating alumni records, acting as the liaison to other organizations of campus and public, and performing any other duties as may be assigned by the President or the Executive Committee.

Treasurer Committee
information:

The Treasurer shall be in charge of collecting money owed to the Chapter, disburse money for authorized purposes, complete form 990 for the Chapter, prepare all year-end reports and beginning of year budgets, arrange for the audit and preparation of the Chapter's tax return, and handle the financial end of the Book Exchange.  The Treasurer will also be responsible for any other duties assigned by the President or Executive Committee.

Vice President of Service Committee
information:

The Vice-President of Service shall be in charge of planning and organizing all service activities required to obtain superior chapter and preside over the Service Committee, and any other duties or projects that may be assigned by the President or the Executive Committee.  The Vice-President of Service shall also be in charge of the recording of service hours performed by each member.  This data should be sent to the Vice-President of Reporting in a timely manner or when requested.

Note:

The Executive Committee shall hold at least one meeting with the succeeding officers to acquaint them with the duties and responsibilities of their office.
