KWCR Staff Application

KWCR will be changing the staff positions and titles for the 2004-2005 academic school year. Therefore you will not be applying for a specific position, but rather indicating general duties you are interested in.  Your answers to these questions will assist us in making an assessment of your abilities.

Staff positions in previous years have included:  Station manager, Program director, Music director, Sports director, IT/Technical director, Spanish program director, DJ trainer, Promotions director, News director.

Most staff positions will offer some level of tuition assistance.  The exact amount will be determined once positions are filledPlease do not submit an application unless you meet these minimum qualifications: Full time student for both Fall and Spring Semester of 2004-05, cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better.

Why do you want to a position for KWCR?

Surveys throughout the years have indicated that Weber State students listen to country music more than any other music format. Would you object if KWCR's music format was switched to country? Please explain.

How would you respond to this hypothetical issue?   The music director opens the mail and receives a nice hat and t-shirt from a  record label who promotes a hot new band.  A few weeks later, you notice that the program director is wearing a nice hoody with the name of that same band, and s/he admits it was a gift from the record label.  After a while, you see all the staff wearing clothing that is promoting this new band.  Do you object with the staff wearing these promotional items? What problem, if any, do you see with this practice? Please explain.

APPLICATION DEADLINE IS 12:00 noon, April 2, 2004.  Interviews will begin the week of April 5-9th.  All applications will be time stamped upon submission. Those applications received after this time may not be considered. Not all applicants will be interviewed. Please be prepared to bring a resume to your interview.
