1. UHESA is looking to form a more powerful voice for staff from all of the Universities
to attend meetings with the legislature. Question was asked: Can UHESA be representative of all staff all across the state?
Lori: Needs are different for all schools.
Gloria: UHESA believes it will be a more powerful voice.
Marsha: UHESA is made up of different types of staff associations.
How would this representative group be funded? UHESA looked at possibly getting $1.00 from every staff member in the state higher education system.
How would this happen?, What is the direction?, Who would be our voice?, Possibly the UHESA president, however...continuity could be a problem.
2. There was discussion on changes in the by-laws, policy, etc. The dues to be charged to each institution is $150.00 to help pay for travel for the executives of UHESA.

4. Drew handed out information from the University of Utah, their "Game Plan".
Staff involvement
Committees
Communication with legislative representatives:
Call, Write, E-mail
Unified voice on same issues.
David asked what the cost/benefit is to this? It seems that a small number of people would be making most of the decisions.
Marsha said that the positive would be that the staff would have a unified voice.
Drew: Timing is everything.
Ron is going to ask what the dues for all of this would be used for. Need it in writing.

5. Ron is going to check with Kent Hales on CSAC getting together with PSAC once a month, twice a semester.

6. Possibly Dr. Livingston will be at the March meeting.

7. Cindy talked about staff development . Speakers usually cost around $3,000.00 Possibilities could be: Jim Abbott, Tim Border, Brad Barton, Derrick Parra, Jim Shay, etc. Grants must be written by April 1st and will be awarded by May 1st.

8. The University is looking at moving the vacation and sick leave "use or lose" date to November 1st from September 1st.

Moved to adjourn meeting:
