PSAC Minutes
April 14, 2003
1. Welcome: Ron Jensen
Present: Wendell Rich, Marsha Richter, Ron Jensen, David Eisler, Cindy
Stokes, Nancy Collinwood, Woodie Slaughter
Excused: Lori Drake, Gloria Perez-Jensen, Drew Weidman
Special Guest: President Ann Millner
2. Approval of minutes:
Marsha motioned to approve, Wendell seconded.
3. Dr. Millner talked about a University Planning Council that would
include faculty, staff, students and administration. This council would be
helping set goals for the entire campus. Then, the goals will go out to
the colleges to look at and discuss. The President hopes to have the
council appointed by commencement with the first meeting to be held in
early May. The kick-off will probably be in August at the opening of
school meetings and continue through the fall semester and possibly into
January. The President is hoping for 3 to 5 goals across the campus to
take place over 5 to 7 years, with continual review on a yearly basis.
4. Parking has become an issue for a few people on the main campus. With
the Davis campus opening this fall...all should be fine with parking.
5. Nancy & Lori volunteered to attend the UHESA meeting for Marsha & Ron.
Marsha gave Nancy a heads up on some of the issues that may surface while
she is at the meeting. "Roberts rules of order" need to be followed. The
minutes from the January meeting and the financial reports have not been
received so approval cannot happen. Nancy said that UHESA has asked for a
huge list of information from WSU....however, the information was given to
UHESA a long time ago. Nancy is concerned about representing WSU
appropriately.
6. Election committee:
Marsha & Woodie volunteered to work on spring elections.
7. Dr. Eisler talked about three issues:
1. Driving on sidewalks(not)..6:30am-2:00pm no driving allowed. The
parking committee will possibly entertain requests for exceptions.
2. Ed.U. Pass with UTA: The pass is all or nothing. This would include any
and all UTA/TRAX except to and from ski reports. There is a survey
out...please take the time to fill it out. There is a cost–student fee–the
concern is for increases in the future not for the early years.
3. Faculty Senate has decided that Fall Commencement should continue.
Speaking of Commencement, volunteers are needed. Cindy & Woodie
volunteered!?!?!?
8. New employees:
Mark Atkinson...Continuing Education
Jeff Tingey.........Marketing/Athletics
Jeremy Stout......Visual Arts
9. Other Business:
Nancy will be out until Fall...having a baby...will be sending pictures.
Moved to adjourn meeting:
Nancy motioned, Cindy seconded.
