Name: Richard C. Badger

Personal Statement: The PSAC Committee has faced a difficult budget year for Weber State Employees, and this same difficult road may continue through this upcoming fiscal year. I feel I have wide variety of experiences and insights to bring the PSAC Committee that will be helpful. Weber State has faced the challenges of increased benefit’s costs and decreased State revenues while still providing a tremendous benefit to the State of Utah. I would like the opportunity to assist addressing this difficult balancing task of maintaining salary and the highest quality of benefits for employees against the new limited funding we face.

Employment and Experience: After graduating with Weber State I worked for Weber County for 30 years. I worked in Social Services, Purchasing, and Operations. I was responsible for all Operations budget expenditures and revenues which accounted for the largest amount of budget dollars in Weber County. I retired from Weber County as the Assistant Director of Operations. I believe I have strong organizational, decision making, and implementation skills. After retiring the opportunity to came and I was fortunate to be hired as a Buyer with Purchasing Office where I have been for the last 2 years.

Name: RC Callahan  

Personal Statement: As a training and development professional, I have the unique opportunity to discuss a wide range of University related topics with a variety of individuals from departments across campus. If given the opportunity to serve on the PSAC committee, the daily feedback I receive from fellow professionals would be articulated to those who govern our workplace.

Name: Carey Anson

Personal Statement: As a professional staff of six years, I have gained an understanding and appreciation of the important role we play in working towards the goals of the institution. The Professional Staff Advisory Committee provides a platform to address the needs and welfare of the staff community and it would be my privilege to serve my colleagues as a member of this committee.

Position: Student Affairs Technology - Coordinator

Department: Student Affairs Technology

Other Positions: Technology Specialist

Employment and Experience: As coordinator of the computer labs for the last four years, our office supported the education of WSU students by providing them with the technological support and an inclusive learning environment in the open-student computer labs. Prior to that, I worked as a Technology Specialist that was responsible for implementing new technologies, managing and supervising lab facilities and student workers.

Education: 2001 -Bachelors of Science from Weber State University in Business Information Systems & Technology. Currently, pursuing Masters in Education, Leadership & Policy from the University of Utah.

 

Name: Sheldon D. Cheshire

Personal Statement: I feel that it is important to be actively involved in the process of helping WSU be the best it can. Working in outreach allows me a perspective of seeing the university from the perspective of our future students. I would like to bring that perspective to PSAC.

Personal Statement: I am a very good listener and would listen well to concerns of staff and communicate those concerns with clarity and passion. I am very good at organization and have been told I am tactful too.

Name: Stan Holmes

Personal Statement: At first I was surprised to learn that I was nominated to serve on the Professional Staff Advisory Committee, however it is nice to see a way that I can give back to Weber State University, help in accomplishing our goals and help represent the best interests of those that we work with.

Position: Programmer/Systems Analyst

Employment and Experience: Weber State Outstanding Performance Award Spring 2004, Served in various committees, groups and capacity while here at Weber State University and have worked for some great organizations in the past including America First Credit Union.

Personal Statement: I would like to see continued strengthening of the relationships between the academic colleges and the administrative offices. I feel I can contribute to this through improving the communication.

Name:  Kristie Nielsen

Personal Statement: I have enjoyed many rewarding opportunities as a professional employee at WSU over the past 11 years. I would like to serve on the PSAC committee to help support the many benefits provided to our professional employees. I would be honored to represent my colleagues by providing their valued input to the important decisions facing WSU as we address the future budget challenges and continue to move toward our 2030 goals. I feel it is an opportunity to give back for the great support I've received from other professional employees as well as support to WSU. I am an advocate of gathering input from many perspectives and then working with others to determine best options.

Employment and Experience: Marketing and Public Relations - Three years at Davis Applied Technology College. Program Administration 1997-2003 in customized training programs for business and industry throughout northern Utah. Administration positions (president, education chair, secretary, program development chair) on several professional association boards (APICS, ASQ, NUHRA-SHRM, NUMA). Currently responsible for marketing of all Continuing Education credit and non-credit programs working with program administrators and directors to develop and implement marketing plans.

Education: BA degree from Weber State University in Communication, Public Relations Emphasis - graduated 1997. Currently pursuing Master of Education degree from Weber State University - anticipated graduation of May 2010.
