P'Sack' Awardee of the Month
BIOGRAPHY
As projects come to me and are completed my job seems to change.
Currently I am the project lead for Weber’s Virtual Lab project. This
project provides students access to their lab software without coming to
campus. They can now do their assignments from anywhere in the world thru
the internet using any operating system or browser.
I enjoy spending time with my family, and friends. I swim, garden, and
try to keep my life organized which I like to think of as a hobby and not
a chore.
I have the privilege of working with some very talented IT
professionals along with numerous student workers. Each day we deal with
solving problems. The work is challenging and forces us to expand our
knowledge. I also have the opportunity to work with most of the WSU
employees, which gives me a great deal of satisfaction when I can provide
answers. If I don’t know the answer I usually know where to find it. I
also love teaching as an adjunct for the IST Department.
I graduated from WSU in 1985 with a CIS degree (now IST) with a dual
minor in Computer Science and Management. I received my Masters in
Instructional Design in 2003 from USU.
I have four children and three adorable grand children.
NOMINATION
SELECTION
Sharon works tirelessly to improve
technology resources on-campus for students, faculty, and staff. She
supports the IT Service Desk by helping to train the student techs and
provide professional back up when they cannot solve problems with
software. She also works with faculty and staff on software
licensing, getting software on their laptop or home computers, and
supporting website management.
Sharon collaborates with different
departments (CHP) and instructors to provide the latest technology to the
student community and to encourage the use of enhanced technology in the
traditional and virtual classroom.
She has a smile for everyone who
enters her office door.
